When Food Is Cute
Okay how can I EAT these little cute fluff balls of love?
This year’s meat birds arrived and I wasn’t expecting them to be quite so adorable!! Thank goodness they will turn into ugly blobby beasts because I wouldn’t be able to go through with “it” otherwise.
Last year we decided to grow heritage birds and although it seemed like a great idea at the time…it took FOREVER for them to grow to size (5 months and a huge feed bill later) AND the largest one was only 3 lbs, the meat was lean and mean and well….. I was disappointed.
This year we have decided to try the white rock cornish x. Yes I know it goes against everything I said last year but at least I tried and I hope that counts for something….. They will be ready in 2 months and on a lot less feed.
SO when the chicks arrived they came in a box. I thought when I lifted the lid I would see ugly little versions of the finished product BUT instead I saw this…
Tee hee heeeeeee!!!
hmmmmm…..not so ugly.
We then proceeded to take them out of their box and into their permenant home….all 50 of them. They settled in very fast.
They were very entertaining as they scurried from here to there without a single care….just a fleet of yellow hair (okay I know it’s not hair…it just rhymes…
)
Things got cuter as they tried to escape..

They are so adorable!!!!
Yes…but not for long!
