Pockets of Heaven – recipe

Rich creamy chocolate infused with orange liqueur is encased in a deep fried wonton until crispy and then dipped in an orange sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 - 250 gram packages of Cream Cheese
  • 1 cup(s) of Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup(s) of White Sugar
  • 5 tbsp. of Orange Liqueur
  • 1/2 cup(s) of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 400 gram package of Wonton Wrappers
  • 1 cup(s) of White Sugar (this is additional for the sugar coating)
  • 1 Zest of 1 Orange (about 1 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp. of Cinnamon
  • 2 inches of Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Whip Cream Cheese until fluffly
  2. Add 1 cup Sugar and 1 Cup Cocoa Powder and Mix until combined
  3. Add the Orange Liqueur and whip until smooth
  4. Fold in Chocolate Chips
  5. Working in batches place Wontons on a parchment lined baking sheet and place 1/2 a tsp of the cream cheese filling in the middle of each one
  6. Wet the edges with water and fold in half
  7. Pinch edges closed
  8. Place the filled wontons, working in batches, in the hot oil until a deep golden brown
  9. Remove and place on a paper towel lined baking sheet
  10. Dip the Wontons in the sugar mixture until coated evenly.
  11. Enjoy your place in Heaven
