Mini Apple Pies – recipe
It’s cute, it’s sweet, kids love to make them AND you can serve everyone their own pie…people LOVE that!
(You can PRINT or SAVE the recipe at the bottom of this post)
Pre heat Your oven to 400 degrees
Each mini pie will require 1 large Macintosh apple and 1/2 of a Granny Smith Apple
(This combination is the BEST – it is sweet and tart and oh so cheeky)
Roll out your crust – you can use your own recipe OR thawed crusts from the freezer aisle at your grocery store.
(You’ll only need 1 if you want a rustic pie – or 2 if you want a pretty pie)
Put your crust in a ramekin and plop all your apples in it.
My daughter is the chef today…Don’t you just love her green chipped nail polish? …. I love her ![]()
Don’t be afraid to really go high with your filling!
Now you have 2 choices from here you can fold the pastry up and around (cutting off any excess first) to make it rustic like so……….
OR you can put a top on it (cut a whole with a cutter first) like this…….
Then trim, plop on top and make fancy edges with your fingers and thumb………pretty, pretty, pretty
Then beat one egg and a splash of cream and give those babies a wash…
Put these little cutie pies on a lined cookie sheet and place in the bottom of the oven – 400 degrees for 12 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and ENJOY!
